Thank you so much for crossing by my gallery, freerunner! Your name is interesting and I see you're into 'The Number Nine' animation. I would like to get to know more about it. 🙂 Do you think this feature should have extended storyline? I've read about it and possible attempts; the artists think that there's a significant lack of children's stories with dark / subdued themes. What do you think? Once again, thank you for coming and the fave! Appreciated!

Oh how lovely of you to pop ‘round my account. It‘a always nice to have people who want to want to learn more about my hobbies and interests and hopefully become interested in those things themselves.

To answer your questions, I believe that 9 either should’ve been a series to expand on and explain the setting or ideally a longer movie as the film does suffer from pacing issues. Although, I do hear that the russian dub has a very different and more emotionally intense plot.

I also agree with the concern that there is a lack of children’s media with such themes. Children tend to be morbidly curious hence why they gravitate towards Rohl Dahl books; Trevor Henderson’s art; creepypastas and games like FNAF. Especially when they’re older and at that point where their personalities start to gain more complexity that most media aimed at their demographic fails to cater to. These themes are needed but need to be handled in a way that allows for morbid curiosity to be explored but not get to a point that’s potentially harmful to a young mind. Extra points to films like Puss in Boots that explains dark and complicated topics in a manner that is age appropriate but not infantilising.

Agreed! Your comment was really informative and I do appreciate it!

Personally I find it really great to take knowledge of who visits my gallery too. I also get to know different topics, series and other forms of media that may give me the chance for anything new to catch on besides what I already know.

I watched a video about the Russian version of 9; indeed there's more effort spent in the dialogue between the characters, while the American edition leaves much for the audience to ask about what's going on in the picture. It's similar to what tends to happen in Japanese animation dubs and it makes 9 look much more like a Russian animation in its core.

In this youtube video - Как русский дубляж ПОЛНОСТЬЮ ИЗМЕНИЛ мультфильм "Девять" [ТРУДНОСТИ ПЕРЕВОДА] - I did see comments referring to a remake that was produced at the same time of the original 9 animated film. Not sure if I'm getting confused with the short film 9 was based on.

Indeed, I did forget that aspect in my previous comment. The main problem it seems to me with children's stories that are looking to provide an obscure argument, is that they don't seem to be open-minded about the possibility of having their portrayals facing hardships of any nature. Currently, I see people getting resistant to it which is a fairly unrealistic deportment to have. There's also this present issue, that people may not watch a feature because it's not being distributed by a noted company they can rely on and trust.

I've been writing around a fictional piece that I admittedly don't believe it gave the audience the most 'correct' interpretations, as I recently found. And if the intention is to reveal other 'interpreters' later on in the franchise, after reading about other characters from related media that works around it on occasions, even thought I think it makes more sense in the first one than the latter, I believe it's... taking too long for that! It's devoid! It really doesn't give the best impression about what an entertainment company should be mainly about, which from my point of view, is the equivalent to a powerhouse of constant new talented people to introduce to aspiring new artists.

Disney still reveals that is able to nail at this the 'traditional' way, making viewers feel complacent with. But seeing it as the only one "capable" in the market feels exceedingly wrong.

Oh why hello! I got your message and I understand the point. I’m also really sorry.
